Giardia

I had never heard of it.  Some outdoorsman I am.  How did I get it?  Well - the exact method of contamination remains a mystery, however I have a hunch it involves water from up in the mountains.  

However it may have happened it is a moot point at this time. What I do know is Giardia (I shutter when I hear it) was awful.  It put me out of commission for 5 days.  Fever hovering between 102 and 104, constant sweats and chills, constant headache, diarrhea (probably TMI - but oh well), nausea, no appetite, no sleeping, too painful to move, severe dehydration, just to name a few.

I'm glad to be out of the woods.  (sorry bad pun)  The headache still lingers a bit, and I'm still a little weak but I'm hopeful that in a week or so I should be back to myself. 

Although it may sound a little redundant what I did learn though this experience is, "when you're sick - all you want is to be healthy."
