Parable: The Good News

I read a blog post  today that reminded me of a parable I wrote a while back.  Enjoy
__________

To what can the Good News be compared?

Two men sat in a hospital waiting room, each one expecting their first son to be born at any moment.  One man inquired of the other, “What kind of Father will you be?  What is most important?”

The man responded as though he had been expecting the question and thus he replied, “Respected.  I will command respect from my son.  It is imperative that my son knows he is to respect me and that there are rules that must be followed to maintain order within our household."

Following his response he repeated the question back to the original inquirer, “What kind of Father will you be?”

“Affectionate,” he replied, “More than any other thing I want my son to know that I am crazy about him."

Which son grew up thinking he could do anything, be anything and had his father’s un-yielding love?  He will be a boy who becomes a man and spreads the good news all the days of his life.
